Meet our Founder

Patricia Wanjiru Kariuki Henry is a dedicated expert in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics, with a strong focus on Food Security Systems and Nutrition Information Packaging, Innovation and Research. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics from Egerton University, Kenya and has completed Masters of Science in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics Course work in Kenyatta University, Kenya. Currently, she is a Humanitarian MBA+DBA candidate at the Roxbourg Institute of Social Entrepreneurship located in Switzerland.

She has extensive experience working with non-governmental organizations and the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Kenya, particularly in treatment and management of malnutrition among pregnant and lactating women and children under five in Arid and Semi-Arid Areas (ASAL).

Her expertise extends to designing and implementing sustainable nutrition community programs, monitoring and evaluating community-based health and nutrition programs, as well as collecting, entering, and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data.

Patricia is also an experienced educator, having taught Research Methods, Community Health, and Nutrition, along with other nutrition and health-related courses in various public and private universities across Kenya. Her diverse background in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics makes her a valuable contributor to the field. ​In addition to her professional work, Patricia Henry hosts the "Food Security Systems Podcast" hosted on Spotify under the name Patricia Henry.

Meet our Founder

Since 2017, she has focused on studying Kenyan food security systems, with a particular emphasis on their impact on nutrient bioavailability. Her work extends to exploring various aspects of agri-production, including greenhouse farming, farm produce management, distribution, and retail.

 

Patricia is a highly self-driven individual who is using her expertise to lead a local innovation that is empowering local small-scale farmers to restore the Agíkúyú indigenous cultural foods in the farms, on the table and in the granary, in Kirinyaga County, Kenya. 

She is also an accomplished author, having published two books: “Why Should I Marry? I Am Happy Single” and “It’s OK to Be Angry at God.” Patricia enjoys singing, having produced a song titled “Ni Yesu Pekee,” available on Spotify, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram as a music reel, itwith the full video accessible on Patricia Henry TV.

 

Additionally, she plays the piano, dances, and is passionate about travel and cultural interactions.

 

Patricia is committed to empowering small-scale farmers, promoting and advocating food as preventive and curative medicine, and  promoting  “Farm to Table” business model.

Patricia is the Founder of Patricia Farm Fresh. She is helping a group of small-scale farmers restore the Agíkúyú indigenous cultural foods. These foods are preventive and curative medicine.
